About Marion
Marion was born in Bird Island, Minnesota - a little town in the southwestern part of Minnesota - that isn't an island and where there are no birds!! Marion received most of her formal education in Minnesota - having attended St. Mary's grade school and high school in Bird Island, and then the College of St. Catherine's in
St. Paul, Minnesota before attending graduate school at Tulane University School of Social work in New Orleans. After obtaining her master's degree in social work, Marion decided to live and work in Louisiana where the warm climate is much more accommodating to her disability.

At the age of eight, Marion contracted lumbar polio and since that time has had to walk with crutches and a long leg brace. She also uses a wheelchair for long distances and - for her comedy performances! For the last twelve years, Marion has been a professional speaker and comedian, often finding humor in life's adversities including her own disability. In addition, Marion continues her private practice in clinical social work, geared towards children, adolescents, couples, adults and families having difficulties dealing with life's many challenges. She thoroughly enjoys both careers and finds them very closely connected. Dealing with adversity takes knowledge, understanding, and a very good sense of humor. She conducts therapeutic humor workshops and seminars, for businesses, mental health professionals and professional associations around the country.

Marion has been married for 30 years and is the mother of two children, 26 and 22 years of age. She is a highly devoted family member and says readily that she has benefited personally and professionally from the varied "everyday hands on training" of being a wife and mother." Both roles in life, have contributed to her true sense of humility, fulfillment, and of course have given her a great deal of grist for her comedy mill!
